Exercise 14, p. 38
Paragraph 1: Road policy makers (government officials) must ban the use of all mobile phones, even hands-free phones- while driving, because any distraction can cause road accidents.
- (The President says…) Such accidents lead to carnage on our roads.
Paragraph 2: Moreover, hands-free phones must be banned because the carnage that often results can lead to major disruptions to road networks, which adversely affects businesses. When freeways are shut down, people are late to work, and this has consequences for their work-related duties and even their after-work commitments.
